Description

Made in Ireland by Fado Jewelry, Dublin. This sterling silver Irish Celtic cross is embossed with Celtic knotwork of excellent definition and detail. To the Celts, the flowing lines and interwoven designs of their art represented the interconnectedness and continuity of life.

Examples of fine Celtic knotwork can be found in Ireland's national treasures, such as the Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript of the four Gospels, or in carved stone high crosses which have stood for centuries in the Irish landscape. The National Museum in Dublin houses fine examples of Irish Celtic jewelry and metalwork... today Fado jewelry carries on that tradition.

The cross is 15/16 of an inch high, measured without including the piece that attaches to the chain, and 11/16 of an inch across. An 18 inch silver chain is included, and the cross comes presented in a green velvet gift box. A larger size is also available...
